Cardiff Gym Yoga

Anahata *Dynamic and Anahata Awakening Heart Classes
Ana Costa’s trademarked style provides a heart centered Hatha Yoga focused in a spiritual meditative style; maximum simplicity and clarity.

Anahata Meditative Yoga
This class offers an opportunity for students to practice meditation after a 45 minute flow of floor postures. You will move into a deep and relaxing state of body, mind, heart and soul and experience a wonderful sense of calmness, balance and inner peace. 

Ashtanga Yoga
This vigorous style of yoga involves synchronizing the breath with a progressive series of flowing postures which produce internal heat that detoxifies muscles and organs. The result is improved circulation, a light and strong body, and a calm mind.

Gentle Flow Yoga
A great class for anyone moving up from Dynamic Anahata or a beginner student that wants to add some gentle strength and conditioning to their yoga practice.   This is a hatha-based class linking asanas with movement and continuous breath. 

Mat Pilates
Mat pilates is a body conditioning routine that builds flexibility, strength, length, endurance, and coordination without adding muscle bulk. In addition, pilates increases circulation and helps to sculpt the body and lengthens and strengthen the body's "core" or "powerhouse" (torso).  You will have better posture, be less prone to injury, and experience better overall health.  

Vinyasa Core Yoga 
One hour of vinyasa core-based yoga blended with pilates core work.  This class is guaranteed to leave you lengthened, strengthened, relaxed and calm.  Perfect for the yogis that want to ease into a pilates practice and strengthen their core.   You’ll be out in an hour to take on your Friday evening.

Vinyasa Yoga 
This is an Ashtanga based flow-style class that harmoniously links asanas with a continuous breath. This type of yoga draws from various other creative styles resulting in an eclectic exploration of fun yoga postures.  In this class, you will build strength, flexibility and endurance.

Yin Yoga
Yin Yoga is a gentle, yet intense and powerful still practice that increases flexibility in the deep, dense connective tissues of the body--the tendons, ligaments, joints and cartilage--which are difficult to open because they are inelastic.   Poses are held for 5 minutes since yin tissue (connective tissue) responds to static long holds, whereas yang tissue (muscles), respond to movement.  
Yin Yoga targets the hips, lower spine, knees joints, ankle joints, and hamstrings.  

Yin Yang Yoga
This practice combines a flow class (yang) with stillness (yin).  The first half of the class is a flow yoga to strengthen and invigorate the body and mind.  When we move to the floor, we concentrate on passive poses held for 5 minutes to the open the body and increase flexibility and send chi flow through the subtle channels. This class is designed to balance and compliment all aspects of yoga and your life.
